Frequently Asked Questions

Massage Therapy

What type of massage do you offer?

Treatments focus on therapeutic and medical massage approaches, including deep tissue, myofascial release, and relaxation-based techniques. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs and treatment goals.

Can I request lighter or deeper pressure?

Absolutely. Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level and preferences.

Is deep tissue massage always painful?

No. Effective therapeutic work does not require excessive pain. Techniques are applied thoughtfully to address tension while maintaining comfort.

Can I talk during my session?

You are welcome to talk or rest quietly—whatever feels most comfortable for you.

How should I feel after a massage?

Many people feel relaxed and relieved after treatment. Some mild soreness may occur, especially after deeper work, but it typically resolves within 24–48 hours.

How often should I receive massage therapy?

Frequency depends on your goals and condition. Some clients benefit from occasional sessions for maintenance, while others may schedule more regularly to address chronic tension or pain.

Prenatal Massage Therapy

Is prenatal massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Prenatal massage is generally safe for low-risk pregnancies and is modified specifically for each stage of pregnancy. Techniques, positioning, and pressure are adjusted to ensure comfort and safety.

How far along in pregnancy can I receive massage?

Prenatal massage is typically appropriate after the first trimester. If you are in your first trimester or have a high-risk pregnancy, please consult with your OB or midwife before scheduling.

Are there any conditions that would prevent me from receiving prenatal massage?

Certain conditions such as preeclampsia, uncontrolled high blood pressure, clotting disorders, or high-risk pregnancy status may require medical clearance. If you are unsure, please consult your provider before booking.

How will I be positioned during the session?

You will be positioned comfortably on your side using supportive bolsters and pillows to ensure proper alignment and reduce pressure on the abdomen and lower back. When appropriate, a specialized prenatal face-down cushion may also be used to allow safe and comfortable prone positioning.

How often should I receive prenatal massage?

Frequency depends on your symptoms and trimester. Many clients benefit from sessions every 2–4 weeks, with more frequent sessions in the third trimester to support comfort.
